So I'm not sure what the deal is with this, it doesn't seem to be a gendered competition but I guess he couldn't contain his misogyny and just had to take a dig at women? It's tattooing so it doesn't need to be gendered.. the prize doesn't say anything about being a women's prize.

No, it's not great work. This kind of realism might look quite impressive when it's relatively fresh or freshly healed, but this one looks to be a year or two old and within 10 years it will be a patchy colour mess.
