Have they HEARD how men talk to each other? Men shit-talk one another CONSTANTLY. They're complete assholes to each other. And that's just how friends talk to each other.

I used to think that men refused to do any emotional labour whatsoever, but in transitioning I have learned that men actually do an enormous amount of emotional labour -- it's just mostly oriented towards caretaking one another's masculinity. 🧵
If anything, men are constantly attacking each other's masculinity--by way of comparing each other to women. They literally bond over denigrating and hurting us. All of their emotional labor goes towards maintaining their own masculinity.

Indeed. I'm pretty sure actual men do FA to support each other emotionally. Support each other in a fight, yes. Support each other by giving each other promotions at work, yes. Support each other by publishing/promoting/consuming art & culture by other men, yes. Support each other by presenting the male perspective, yes. Support each other by amplifying male voices, yes. Support each other by ringfencing power for other men, yes. Support each other by encouraging and covering up abuse, yes.
Support each other emotionally? Naaah.
Does she mean she and her TiF friends have to expend enormous emotional energy propping up one another's fiction that they are actually men?
