I was riding with some other women the other day after a photoshoot for a wedding. Not an actual wedding just pictures with under 10 people outside in a non crowded area!

Anyway I ran into the store real quick to get supplies to make something vegan and one of the women mentioned why I did not bother with milk if "the cows did not die for it"

Which sparked me to say "well actually the average dairy cow only lives 4 years and is kept pregnant her entire life. She is made to give birth and produce milk until her body literally falls apart and she gets turned into meat for fast food places"

I also mentioned how cows are very maternal and their babies get ripped away from them each time and how traumatic that is. The woman who asked me about milk actually cried out for me to stop because it was hurting her heart (she is also a mother) and I just kinda sat there like "well you did ask..."

I have met so many women who once they find out what they do to dairy cows they are just horrified. And that is why I think being vegan is important part of feminism. I can't support literally raping another animal, forcing pregnancy, taking away her child, and causing her to suffer for literal years.

Good for you. I have a hard time speaking up,because I feel like convincing people of the horrors of meat/dairy would require me to describe things so upsetting for me. It would be as if someone said "tell me about child rape before I will change my mind on pedophiles " I just can't even tell most people what I know because I find it horrifying.

Couldn't agree more, feminism and veganism go hand in hand to me. Feminine protein products are anathema to female liberation.
