Lab grown meat could potentially save billions of animal lives when it becomes cheap and ubiquitous enough to supplant traditional animal flesh. However, there are a lot of considerations about this technology, such as whether it could be considered vegetarian/vegan - a collection of starter cells would still need to be collected from an animal, probably on a semi-regular basis.

What do you think? Would you eat cultured meat?

I support lab meat's potential to rescue countless animals from slaughterhouses. There are some people who have deluded themselves into believing they need meat to function, and this could be the best solution.

That being said, I find meat absolutely repulsive and could not eat it in any form, even if it did not require an animal's life.

I agree with a lot of the other commenters here. Sure I’ll support it’s use in reducing harm for animals and saving lives, but could I bring myself to eat it? No. Impossible meat already wigs me out.

Yeah same. I'm way past the point where I could possibly consider flesh food.

I'm really torn between pragmatism and idealism. Because the IDEA behind it still cheapens life. It still sells animal flesh as a product. It reminds me of all the profit that has been made from the stem cells of Henrietta Lacks. But pragmatically, it would save a lot of walking, breathing animals. So I guess...I would support it for others, but for me and my family there's just no need to buy into it.

No need for it myself, but would appreciate it as a less-harmful option for anyone on the fence.

Maybe I'd eat it but I'd more likely try to get any meat eating family and friends to buy it instead of real meat.

I agree that I might try to get meat eating family and friends to buy it.
