It's actually illegal to interfere with employees' right to unionize and we shouldn't write it off or trivialize it.

Wasn't trivializing it. Was a union rep for my work career. Just pointing out - not well apparently - that in a capitalist economic structure workers should never expect bosses to be anything but bosses.

Fair enough, but hopefully you can see how that sort of comment could come across as similar to someone saying "There's nothing wrong with making money. It's only natural to look out for yourself and your own interests." I see people make similar arguments all the time to defend the practices of wealth hoarding, inequality, and unfair labor practices.

I get that you didn't mean it that way, and I'm glad. However, there's too much normalization of labor exploitation and demonization of unions to allow such a comment to go unremarked on.
