How fucking insultated from the horrors of the real world, and from the good that JKR has done, does someone have to be to say that she's a terrible human being? Fuck, these genderspecial jackoffs are so self-involved they think that a woman saying that locking rapists in cages with women is a bad idea, is commiting a hate crime. Here's a pertinent question for you, you personality-barren wretches! If male violence isn't something to fear, then why not send your precious "transwomen" to prison with other males? Prisons aren't there to "affirm" anyone's "identity", so if there are no material differences between men and women, then why not put TIMs in with other males? Could it be because males are significantly more violent than women? Hmmmm.

I have to console myself with the fact that their idiocy is documented. The fucking deplorable things they are saying about JKR makes me hope they feel guilty about their hate pile on for the rest of their lives. That they learn to hate themselves to the depths that they should. JKR is a person, too; how would they like it if someone treated them the way they treated her? To us, they are the despicable little cretins, yet you don't see us doxxing them.

I am just so fucking done with the Harry Potter fandom and those shitty little leeches. JKR deserves better.

I saw this tumblr post this morning gushing over the Hunger Games and how wonderful Suzanne Collins was for "writing a masterpiece, getting rich and then shutting up forever unlike that nasty evil JKR". I still don't understand how they failed to see how f'd up the rhetoric of 'women shouldn't speak up on issues they care about' is. One of the rules of misogyny is literally 'women have all the rights they need. The right to remain silent'.

And they barely understand the themes of Suzanne Collins work at this point, with them joining in on the takedown(with glee, it's glee to be part of the mob), they're the worst sort of Capital drones there is.

Right? They really didn't pay attention.

After all, which district was shallow, obsessed with unnecessary body modification, and loved bloodshed? Was it District 12 or The Capitol? πŸ€”

All the way down to the unnecessary procedures, clown clothing and absolute disinterest in people and human lives.

They only want women to be in the public to entertain them. The second those women start having opinions they want them to shut up and disappear

It's pathetic, for all the cries and screams of fascism, these people are a clear example of just how easy it is for the crowd to be swayed. To turn on an innocent.

I've said this before, but I'm going to say it again.

If every person in the world had the character, bravery, generosity, fortitude, compassion and creativity of Joanne Rowling, it would feel as magical as Hogwarts.

Shit, imagine if all of the billionaires and most of the millionaires were as generous, the journalists had her clarity, the politicians had her integrity... Can you just imagine what the world would look like if "The Worst Person in the World" was an opinionated and philanthropic children's author?

Every one of us would be better off.

I don't doubt she has her flaws, and human struggles, but to overcome so much by her own creative effort, and by bringing people happiness and wholesome pleasure. I truly admire the woman.

Ignoring how untold male celebrities get the "Awww, shucks!" treatment by the public, if your biggest threat and persecution is a polite essay and some snarky social media engagement, you are insanely privileged.

Seriously. The world would be a paradise if all billionaires were like JK Rowling.

Instead, we have tons of sociopathic men and only one JK Rowling.

What bothers me as well is the hypocrisy - they still want to be able to read her books, watch her movies, go to HP themed parks and rides (and they stole quidditch). They want to publicly vilify her and demonize her, but also to enjoy the worlds she's created. They want to throw their cake at her and then eat it too. It's some of the worst kind of human behaviour.

It's so ridiculous to see them try to deal with that cognitive dissonance. So many of them pretending someone else wrote it, claiming she paid a ghostwriter and never actually wrote the books herself, that she just copied the story from other fantasy books or that Harry potter books were a flop until Daniel Radcliffe became the face so she owes her success to him. I've even seen someone say that the books were lazy writing and average at best when they literally had a harry potter themed tattoo on them. It would be funny, if it wasn't so sad

Harry Potter was a MASSIVE hit at my elementary school in the late 90s. I remember getting in line for the Scholastic book fair in order to be able to purchase the latest HP book, and this was still years prior to the films coming out.

Yeah... Even the NYT got on that bandwagon. Lots to answer for

Well she's exceptionally wealthy and hated by jealous men so in the objective sense her life probably isn't that bad. Personally it'd amuse me but I also like conflict with MRAs.

She is still a very nice and philanthropic woman though, she paid for my friend to be flown out to a feminist conference 😭😭😭.

Agree, I don't see any of those complaining about what an awful person she is setting up children's charities - or even donating to charity. Even if you disagree with what she has said or written (which let's be real, how can you, she's a beacon of sanity and grace in this morass of utter BS and bullying, let's call it what it is), actions speak louder than words and her actions show her to be a good person. That's where I get stuck with these people. Even if you haven't bothered to read her essay and you're just swallowing all the crap about how she's a nazi... how much has she given to charity again? What are the aims of Lumos and how does that further the undying reich? Engage your brains, people.

There are people with real problems in this world, horrible poverty, hunger, disabilities, cancer, living in a war zone, real discrimination and all the gender specials do is navel gaze and have positioned themselves at the top of the oppression olympics.

I think JKR is wonderful. Of course she could have shut up but she didn't. She knows many women can't speak out for fear of losing their jobs, their reputation and security. She has given away vast sums of money to people in need. If there was ever an admirable woman of our time, it's Joanne Rowling. She's beautiful, she's talented, she's kind.

If you feel upset about how she is being treated, remember just how powerful she is. There is nothing they can do to force her to stop and they hate that. Whenever a woman dares to say no to them, they want to punish her, put her in her place, silence her. They can't do that with JKR. They can't get her fired or make her lose her income. They can't reach her no matter how hard they try and she always keeps going, standing up for women.

I know it is unfair how she is treated and she shouldn't have to deal with all that vitriol but having her on our side is so meaningful because they won't ever be able to silence her. At least that always makes me feel a bit better when I get upset about how unfair all of this is.

It's really so maddening.

I think it's so annoying seeing people trying to discourage others from enjoying her work as well cuz it's like some of the same people are perfectly fine with borderline pedophilic content in other series but this is where they draw the line.

I was doing an online meetup last year with some people and some SJW type (she doesn't go to that meetup group that often) made some snide comment about JKR and then some other woman who I thought was cool called her a TERF and then a another guy joined in to call her bad as well. The rest of us were silent so I really don't know if they are just being crowd followers. I still like them but don't see them often but I didn't want to say that I'm a TERF but frankly it doesn't make sense to support transpeople if they take away rights from women. They basically just use my gender as a costume and I don't get how people don't see that as wrong. Especially since most Americans see black face as wrong. Isn't trans the same thing? Why can't men wear nail polish, grow their hair and call them selves men? That doesn't make you a woman. There is no logic with people

I agree, the fandom used to be such a nice place. I'd pop in and out, people everywhere could talk about Harry Potter and just enjoy that bit of whimsy. Halloween time was a great time, Wizarding world etc. Nowadays the joy has been sucked out of it, I still enjoy what was but these men and their obsession has ruined a lot for me. At least the kid's can still purely enjoy it. I'm still mad how they fucked up Fantastic Beasts with those two idiots. Still holding out hope for tv shows and a whole HP universe.

Edit: JK Rowling created a story for the ages, and I hope we can see more of it honestly.
