Men implying that the female brain means women don't appreciate psychs nor can they have as profound experiences.

Maybe men think they have more profound experiences because their normal emotional range is about a quarter of an octave and MDMA is their first experience of empathy as an adult, so the contrast is staggering to them.

I love psychedelics, generally loathe the kind of men who are into them. Honourable exception for the Nigel and a few others. The number of men who use psychedelics as an actual ego trip fucking astounds me.

NO ONE CARES WHAT YOU THINK ABOUT ANYTHING, GUYS. You’d think that would be the one lesson that they could take from it, that their thoughts are meaningless and not that interesting. But instead they go to “this profound experience means that I, personally, am interesting, and everyone should know what I think.” They actually disgust me!

Skimming through SCUM makes me feel better when that happens. A nice reality check.

Being completely self-centered and unable to relate to anything outside himself, the male's 'conversation', when not about himself, is an impersonal droning on, removed from anything of human value. Male 'intellectual conversation' is a strained compulsive attempt to impress the female.

My first psychedelic experience I was the only woman. Never again. I'll never take them with men present ever. Men go on and on about bullshit they think women aren't into never considering the fact that the women aren't into them, that it could be the men ruining the experience for women and that if it was only women present it would be an entirely different experience.

Men do this with literally everything. Video games and STEM spring to mind right away. Men make these things toxic on purpose to keep women out then say we're less intelligent and enlightened because we don't participate in the shitty communities they create.

I hate this kind of male. They feel superior to anyone who hasn’t had their kind of experiences. In this case, they feel superior because their trips or highs are better? I mean if all the things in life to feel better about, you put your stake in a better “high”??? I must laugh. I see the same in males who travel. They say they are more “enlightened” because of their experiences and look down on others who have not traveled, as in their mind, nobody could have such deep and profound thoughts if they have not traveled. Really, it’s just a bunch of bullshit. More of the time old tale of men having a pissing match and proclaiming their superiority.

Someone recently shared Genevieve Gluck's blogpost on ancient siberian female shamans, midwinter celebrations, reindeer goddeses, and 'magic' mushrooms. These men are obviously just trying to uphold their preexisting sexist worldviews with their own baseless speculation -- not so very 'enlightened' , eh?

Agree with you 100% except this OP. I see what you're getting at but the terms feminine and masculine need to go. Nothing is inherently feminine.

i LOVE psychedelics & really relate to what you've described. despite the online space re: drugs becoming more popular, it is nonetheless still a male-driven space. it is so unfortunate that almost all of my hobbies are tainted by maleness; i am forced to put up with misogyny if i wish to read about these topics at all. it is infuriating, especially considering the scope of the internet age. why is every site besides ovarit bombarded with this bullshit?

the worst example in my own life is true crime. i love reading & watching videos about crime cases/stories, but the misogynistic takes are inescapable. so much victim blaming (how can this woman stay with an abuser?? i guess she ultimately deserved to be murdered) & comments of why the female victim was actually a kind of bad person, too. as if anything bad a woman does means she should suffer the consequence of being murdered. unreal

Guy getting raped by alligator men? Hilarious. And a cautionary tale against salvia. Or maybe that was ketamine. Reading most other trip reports is like a friend explaining their dream and thinking it means anything at all to you.

I do realize, that if there are trends in differences between men and women, that men get really obsessive with things in a way that involves lots of cataloguing and arguing. I can't stand it.

Maybe because it's seen that women aren't supposed to do drugs because getting high isn't ''ladylike''? Women are supposed to be on the straight and narrow, how many still view women smoking and drinking as being ''unladylike''?
