I loved Betty Boothroyd, a Yorkshireman who had been a Tiller girl before she entered politics, and who could keep admirable order in the House of Commons. Now she's "downsizing" and getting rid of some of her treasures. I hope that Madame Tussaud's buy the jacket and shoes and put them on their wax model of her (they must have one, perhaps in the torture chamber, with a recalcitrant Tory MP?).
