Feminism is the movement to liberate women from patriarchy.
We stand up for the rights of women as a sex-class. Women have a right to bodily autonomy and to set their own boundaries and have them respected. We resist efforts to limit women's reproductive autonomy. We condemn the men who exploit and abuse women in prostitution and pornography. We oppose all harms and forms of exploitation of women and girls, regardless of whether or not they're sold as "choice" or re-framed as "empowering." We oppose the movement to redefine "women" in a way that erases the realities of our lives and makes organizing for our liberation as a sex-class impossible.
"In the radical feminist view, the new feminism is not just the revival of a serious political movement for social equality. It is the second wave of the most important revolution in history. Its aim: the overthrow of the oldest, most rigid class/caste system in existence, the class system based on sex – a system consolidated over thousands of years, lending the archetypal male and female roles an undeserved legitimacy and seeming permanence." –Shulamith Firestone, The Dialectic of Sex

There are only two things that can be done to rapists to make the world a better place. Rapists need to be deprived of either:
(a) any access, irl or online, to women and girls - forever
OR
(b) air
No matter who they are, the world is a better place without them.
preferably the latter.
Damn lmao I didn't expect option b to be phrased like that 🔥
Killing in self defense of a rape should have no penalty, and we should do more of those. If we just said “fuck it” and killed those men, probably they’d rape less. I remember there was a Dworkin quote that she said women should learn how to kill, and that definitely stuck with me. Yes, we should learn how to kill to defend ourselves.
It's a better investment for society that people like Myers spend their time and energy on women and that we lock away rapists for good. I guess her investment in this project showed us as much at least.
Women try to gain control by "fixing" men. However, it's only men themselves that can sort themselves out. Women need to focus on building up women.
Despite it all, she still refuses to Name the Problem.
Women cannot fix men. We can only run and hide. Or kill but that's illegal so ya know. I feel bad for women who can't stop caring about these harmful beasts.
why don't we start with castration and see where things go from there
Yes it was all for nothing. A person who is willing to violate women and children in one of the most dehumanizing ways does not want to be a good, let alone a better person.
Rapists should be culled.
I do believe that physical castration (if one shies away from the death penalty) would help a lot.
Research needs to be done on this, but there likely is a genetic component, so if rapists were found out early and prevented from procreating, future generations would have fewer rapists in them.
(Has no one ever tried culling rapey cocks when breeding chickens? It seems the most intuitive thing to do, and one could at least find out whether it works in chickens. Large-scale farms obviously won't have the time, but people who just keep a small flock often say they watch the chickens for amusement.)
It's harder to castrate roosters because their testes are internal. But it would be interesting to do this with some species of mammal.
Many people are quick to say that castrating humans doesn't work because a few studies said so and they can use other things to rape. But they fail to consider that: 1) most men value their dicks more than their own lives and would rape less if there was a risk of losing it. They would also become very psychologically devastated after the surgery and wouldn't want to do much 2) Most of them only care about using their dicks anyway.
When you mentioned culling I jumped to comment, and then also read the bottom bit before I made a fool of myself!
Agreed! I wouldn't keep a bad rooster that abuses and rapes my hens, why should it be any different with men?
I've invited a few roosters to dinner over the years, they make wonderful soup. An aggressive male is nothing but a liability.
If they were able to gather data and learn from it then no. It was not for nothing.
I feel bad that she essentially wasted her life for nothing. She either has a very, very kind heart, or an extremely naive one, to have done this. I want to believe it's the former because I really fucking wish men aren't that bad. She basically proved that yes, they are. Every time women give men a chance it ends up like this. Life isn't a saturday morning cartoon where the villain eventually comes around with a redemption arc and becomes bffs with all the ponies.
I'm glad supposed Nigels exist, but they should be the norm for men, not the exception. It's sad that basic decent humanity is a low bar now.
What a waste of time. This is so emblematic of how women are always used through their empathy and hope and have their time wasted. What a fool.
She wasted her life trying to change evil men. Evil men cannot change.
Evil men don't want to change.
