The polls have closed in Italy. And it appears that Italy will elect it's first woman prime minister...

...and she's a facist.

A real proper facist. And what does this mean for women?

Meloni is comparable to Le Pen in other ways. Both are examples of what political scientists call “genderwashing,” when female politicians adopt a nonthreatening image to blunt the force of their extremism. Meloni’s signature look involves flowing outfits in pastel shades. To uninformed foreigners, her ascent could look like female empowerment; she poses as a defender of women, even as her party has rolled back women’s rights. In localities it governs, Brothers of Italy has made abortion services—the procedure has been legal in Italy since 1978—harder to access. Municipal authorities in Verona, where the party has shared power with Salvini’s League, declared the city “pro-life.”

And

In particular, the natalist obsession of Il Duce’s 20-year rule, with its “Battle for Births,” has survived in the Brothers of Italy’s present-day concern about boosting the birth rate, its proposal to link social-welfare assistance to mothers and those engaged in child care, and its attempts to limit reproductive rights.

In her interview in Venice, Hillary Clinton also remarked on how right-wing parties can sometimes appear better at promoting women. Women like Meloni “are protected by patriarchy,” she said, “because they are often the first to support the fundamental pillars of male power and privilege.” Meloni’s party slogan—“God, Fatherland, Family”—celebrates those very pillars of power. And it came from Mussolini’s dictatorship.

There's a reason British left wing feminists are shouting from the rooftops that women need to be wary of aligning with the far right...

The far right is no friend to women.

They see us as support animals for manly men who are in charge & superior; and they see us as breeding units who either need to be prevented from breeding, or coerced into breeding (depending on our skin colour).

She's against TRA bullshit, she wants to regulate immigration, values families and small businesses over multinationals, she's anti Putin, she wants to help single mothers. She's not the best but people calling her fascists are like people calling JK Rowling transphobic. Her party program is online for free, I'd suggest everyone reads that before blindingly believing everything the media says.

I'm not sure she is anti Putin and she was in Fiamma Tricolore which is a party filled with nostalgic fascists. Are you from Italy?

Hi, sorry for the late reply - she's staunchly against Putin and she's willing to support Ukraine along with the rest of European nations (check the interview above) - the Tricolor Flame is the symbol of the Arditi before leftist propaganda linked it to the tomb of Mussolini; following this logic even the flame of the Carabinieri is fascist, while the three-pointed flame is explicitly inspired by the Arditi from WW1. I'm not saying she's the best, but she's not the Hitler 2.0 Americans want her to be.

She "changed" her opinion on Putin after the war because otherwise nobody would have vote for her.

EDIT: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Italian_Social_Movement

FdI is the heir of MSI which is clearly a fascist party....

She's not Hitler but she was clearly a mussolini supporter during her younger years and she supported putin, and maybe even received money from him in the past.
