Dear Women:

As a 60-year-old woman, I am a lifelong supporter of NOW. I was born into 1960s women's liberation, and all my life I have fought for the rights of girls and women under the omnipresent threat of misogynist male violence and the oppression of patriarchy.

I am writing to ask that NOW take a public stand unquivocably defending the rights of girls and women to our own sports and safe spaces.

President Biden's recent Executive Order, confusing trans rights with LGB rights and forcing girls and women to legally accept self-ID'd untransitioned biological men into our safe spaces, is a clear and present danger to girls and women all across America.

We ask that NOW demand the EO be immediately repealed and that the President's protections for trans rights, trans sports, and trans safe spaces be rewritten to preserve protections for girls' and women's sports and safe spaces.

• Women fought long and hard for what few protections we have under patriarchy.

• The President is perfectly able to establish trans safe spaces and resources for trans sports leagues, without threatening the welfare and safety of girls and women.

• The President's EO is especially dangerous to the most vulnerable among us: children, mothers, the elderly, lesbians, who are under wide-spread attack for refusing sex with untransitioned biological men, and women in shelters, rehab, mental institutions, and prison, in which BIWOC are grossly over-represented. Rapists and pedophiles posing as transwomen have already assaulted girls and women in all of these safe spaces. Untransitioned biological men are attacking lesbians in public and private with the rape threat: "I'll make you choke on my girl dick." And when they learn they have the President's legal protection, these assaults can only become an epidemic.

• The Guardian has reported that even transitioned biological men retain a long-term unfair advantage over women in sports: https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2020/dec/07/study-suggests-ioc-adjustment-period-for-trans-women-may-be-too-short Biological men are already overwhelming girls' and women's sports, causing grave injuries and threatening to eventually drive girls and women out of their own leagues altogether.

Please speak up now, before it's too late, for America's girls and women, and defend us from this shocking attack upon our rights and safety.
