Just got an email from this organisation and they specifically talk about the injustice of housing TIM's in Female prisons. Donated so quick and thought I might post here to let others know.

I'm very happy about their stance on TIMs, prostitution, surrogacy, violence against women, etc., but potential donors should know that they appear to be anti-abortion fetus rights activists. They are not sufficiently upfront about this, leaving the reader to scratch the surface and realise for themselves, possibly after having given them money.

On their page about abortion, their public statement on their stance on the matter won't clearly state that they're against abortion. Rather, it expresses misgivings about it— not because it's murder of the unborn, goodness no, but because abortion harms women! The statement uses troublingly vague language full of dogwhistles about what exactly their goal is regarding abortion and makes no mention of its legality, despite the org clearly feeling strongly about the issue.

But if you read below their official statement on abortion, it becomes apparent even to those unfamiliar with anti-abortion dogwhistles that they are indeed against abortion altogether, not just in unapproved circumstances, and they are against federal legislation protecting women's abortion rights.

That same page also shows their proposed changes to abortion law to restrict it. And while they are only proposing restrictions on abortion rather than outright bans, their fact sheet on abortion law in Victoria also refers to fetuses as "preborn children", so the notion that all they want is some modifications to abortion law while retaining its legality is suspect.

Above that is a hyperlink the reader probably would have scrolled past which links to a page for the "Latest blogs on abortion". Among them is an article by the CEO celebrating the end of Roe vs. Wade in the US. As well as linking to a bizarre external op-ed claiming that "Abortion is never medically necessary", the CEO states in her article:

The reality is, that abortion is not, and has never been in the best interests of women. It is counter-productive to women’s health and welfare and betrays the basic feminist principles of non-discrimination, non-violence and justice for all.

If they believed it so badly and had more integrity, they would put that in their official public statement on abortion.

Thanks so much for posting this website Just joined from Australia to find other likeminded people/organisations to support
