South Carolina, USA: Write to State House Reps

There is a bill to protect single-sex sports in middle and high schools in South Carolina. It seems popular (a lot of representatives have wanted to be added as co-sponsors), but it's just been hanging out in committee. From what I can tell, SC House is on a recess between term 1 and term 2 of their current legislative session. Write to encourage them to revisit this bill and make it a priority when they re-convene.

Dear REP,

I am writing in support of House Bill 3477: Save Women's Sports Act, introduced in the last legislative session. As I understand, the bill remains in the Judiciary committee. Please work with members of that committee to pass that bill on to a House vote. If you have the opportunity to vote on this bill yourself, please vote Yes.

I am writing to express my support as a woman, and in particular a feminist. As women watch our spaces and opportunities eroded by gender identity beliefs, people ask, "where are the feminists?" I am writing to say "Here I am!" I and many, many women like me stand for keeping women's sports single-sex. This issue is important to us. This issue is especially important for the next generation of women and girls, who will have their middle-school and high-school sports protected so that they can enjoy fair competition and opportunities.

o/Activism is a circle for sharing various calls to action for feminist causes, including petitions, fundraisers, letter-writing or call-in campaigns, etc.

The call to action should be clear from the post itself. Do not post links to news/articles and then write about what to do about them in the comments. Instead, make a text post with the action to take described in the post, and then include any links to news/articles in the text post. Posts that are links should only be links to pages that include calls to action in them, or are relevant, current activism resources. No one should be left wondering "but what am I to do about it?" after reading a post.

Image posts are only enabled for event fliers and advertisements of feminist groups. No other images are allowed.

Personal or action-inspiring activism reports may be appropriate here, subject to mod discretion. This is not a discussion circle but a call to action circle, so the activism report needs to contribute to calling others to action. In general, it's a better idea to use the feminist discussion circles listed below.

Activism groups that are friendly to gender critical feminists can also be advertised here. However, advertisements for Discord chat rooms or other private groups must be pre-approved by /o/Activism moderators before you post. Please report any ads for private groups that do not have a comment from a mod confirming that it is approved. Never give anyone sensitive information that could be used to de-anonymize you without first vetting them yourself. Be careful!

This circle is about accomplishing specific feminist goals. If you want to discuss ideologies, current events, debates, articles, or news, use other circles such as /o/WomensLiberation or /o/GenderCritical. If you are posting a specific event, you probably want to post to /o/FeministEvents as well.
