Mariam Nabatanzi is from Kasawo, Uganda, in Africa. According to Wikipedia, her oldest children are 28 years old as of April 2023. The first time she gave birth was when she was 13 years old. She has not only has gone through horrible child rape but a gross form of reproductive violence leveraging a medical condition and financial instability. She has only given birth to a single child one time - the rest have been twins, triplets, quadruplets, quintuplets.
The violent man she was sold to at age 12 was 40 years old at the time, and it was for cows. Her abuser didn't just leave her and her children, but he took all of their money and further impregnated her before leaving, then went ahead and sold the homestead they were living on completely displacing her and her children. So her and her dozens and dozens of children moved in with her grandmother. Her grandmother died and she had to advocate for her ability to keep the homestead against other relatives, who compromised that she could continue living there if she paid. She is still paying it off.
She, her kids, and some daughter in-laws are apparently currently surviving through donors that bring food and necessities. She works on top of trying to raise all her kids as a hairdresser, tailor, and herbalist.
I'm not finding information about this charity on any of the charity watchdog sites. It might be legit, but try to find out more before sending a substantial donation.
