This promotion of transgender ideology comes at a time when the landmark Dame Hilary Cass Review has recommended that puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones should not be prescribed to children. Instead, it advises healthcare professionals to give holistic care and to not ‘socially transition’ any children before they have seen a child psychologist or paediatrician – good news that should ensure parental involvement.
Moreover, the report recognises the growing number of 'detransitioners' who regret their decision to transition and notes that most children will outgrow transgender inclinations.
Yet, rather than note the valid concerns and repeal their dangerous policies, Girlguiding’s leadership has doubled down."
