Was having a conversation with a female co-worker where we were discussing a very popular romance novel (yes, Fourth Wing/Iron Flame). And a male co-worker kept asking questions about what we were talking about and when I finally used the words "romance novel" he disgustedly said "Oh, you mean 'softcore porn."

Just realized today the word "softcore porn" seems to be a derogatory term for anything softly sexual that a woman might enjoy.
