Made on a whim because I had too much craft tissue left over, ended up spending more time on this than I wanted lol. About half a hand's size.
A) Finished, left side view.
B) Finished, top view.
C) Base: Cardboard cutout from a Coles cookie box. No template but used some image refs to create the base framework. This step took maybe 1-2 hours.
D) adding bulk on with crepe tissue and using floral tape + superglue instead of paper mache/clay because I am a genius. Also 1-2 hours.
E) Creating the flower "plates" with more crepe tissue and floral tape (less than 1 hr), and then cutting + folding the base material of the "topiary" and gluing them on (the entire day urgh). The tail spikes were floral wire poked through the tail and with crepe tissue rolled + glued on.
Probably won't do this again as the topiary part was way too time consuming and got dull and tedious after a while π₯² I also didn't think about the thickness of the topiary and lost quite a bit of shape detail with the head and leg sections. Might find a tiny display case for it!

That's what makes it so cute! Nice work.
CUTE! I wish we were neighbors so we could craft together.
Make her a shoebox diorama to live in- I'd bet you'd be terrific at making the surrounding vegetation.
*well I feel silly. I did not clock it was a topiary, I need to clean my glasses!
Don't feel bad! It doesn't really look like one in any case π€£ I did consider making a mini surrounding scape but ahhh I'll have to think about it when I'm not still put off by the idea of it. Thank you!
It's so beautiful! I love it! Very terfy, too π π¦π¦
Thank you! Yeah glad I had purple tissue available!
So cute!!! Are you going to name it???
Nameless for now but I suppose an honorary nickname would be Terfosaurus π€ thank you!
Wow! That looks great. Definitely deserves to be in a display case.
It is amazing how some little projects turn out to take a lot more time than we initially thought. Or perhaps more precisely, we just do the steps to make an idea spring to life and it turns out to take all day.
In my opinion that is a day well spent because it is using such an important part of the brain. You flexed your creativity neurons as well as your 'putting up with tedium' neurons. Not only did you get this great stegosaurus out of it, you have also buffed up your brain. Good work.
Thank you! π
