It's gorgeous! I've never done macrame but have done friendship bracelets. What pattern gets you that result?

Thanks ☺️ it's just a simple twist. I don't know the word for it, but it's a beginner knot, so it's easy to find on YouTube or Pinterest :) I really like macrame, but it hurts my arms x) I guess it's good training though

A square knot is flat. This is a half square knot. (I used to do this a lot years ago :).

Ah yeah, square knot makes a bell ring :D thanks for the help ☺️

Woah!!! That's awesome!!!!! Thanks for sharing! I love seeing posts like this. Always inspiring. Great work Luske!

Omg, I'm so happy to see its not a forgotten skill! Lovely!

Is it something you work in too? :D I only discovered macrame about two years ago. I started a huge piece but never finished it... It's such a beautiful craft that I'd love to do more.

Oh, I wish I did, but you can't buy any of the supplies here. The best I Gan do is use regular twine - but packaging twine is too thin and the stuff you get from the builders store is too rough. So I've been hoping when we immigrate I'll get my hands on some quality materials that side. Now I have hope!

Which begs the next question: can you buy the rings and big beads and stuff, too? Is this a practical hobby in a 1st world country? It is so beautiful.

In the USA, Michaels sells these things. The last time I made a plant hanger, I got the cord from a home depot. (A pretty white cord, strong)

Well.. it's not as big as knitting and crochet, but I do see it now and again. Mostly for plant hangers or wall decor. I have to admit I bought my cord/rope on etsy, and they also have beads and such. I have never seen macrame materials in a physical shop in my country. I don't know where you plan to immigrate, but I hope you will have a chance to pick up macrame ☺️ And for practicality, I suppose it just depends on how you use it :D

Beautiful work! Beautiful landscape outside, too. I feel such peace looking at this.

I'm glad that's the feeling it gives ☺️ it is very lovely when it's green outside. And the wind whispers peacefully in the leaves of the big ash.

Looks like an awesome place to try herbs (assuming it's not too humid!)

It's actually been raining a lot lately (finally! I feared for my garden). But the shelter/covered terrace is quite good at staying dry. It's well ventilated and heats up quickly, so I think that's what does the trick ☺️
