I'm chuckling seeing this - last night I watched an episode of Midsomer Murders from when this was new in the shops and there was endless stuff sold with it. Sgt Troy is looking for a birthday present for his mother, who's very into it, and a bookseller says "Maybe it's time you bought her the diary." Troy being the ignoramus he is complains later "They only tried to sell me a diary in October!"
The copyright printed in this book is from 1977. There’s also a note handwritten by the previous owner of this book that they gifted to someone who graduated (college or high school perhaps) in May of 1982. Did the episode you mentioned come out in the 80’s? I’ve never watched that show before, but I have heard of it.
Early '90s, I think. Interesting, I didn't know it was published as early as '77. I remember the popularity from my adulthood, so 80s at least - maybe it had a surge some years later?
Another wonderful example of female creativity! Thanks "CG" - too lazy to type it out right at this moment. CompassionateGoddess, okay not that lazy.
I’m so glad I found it! Her nature journal has inspired so many people who want to start nature journaling.
Look at this amazing nature journal I got for only $3! Edith Holden’s watercolor paintings are amazing. I’m going to do some master studies of her watercolor paintings here in this book!
