InspoLeah Houghtaling Woodworking Vids! 🪵
I've done a little woodworking (and a fair amount of furniture refinishing) and just love the smell and vibe of a woodshop.
My favorite woodworking inspo person is Leah Houghtaling (https://leahhoughtaling.com/). Leah loves trees, and loves working with beloved regular-old local native tree varieties and large garden shrub wood (though she certainly won't turn her nose up at donated exotic wood scraps).
Her ethos is "leave no scrap behind" and she means it! Also, her wife makes little stained glass bird figures that they mount in a Leah-created wood frame, called Bird Abodes.
Log Reveal Wednesdays on her IG channel are fun. She'll saw a small log (many are donated to her from all over, it's a thing) and talk about its character and features and what makes it interesting or awesome for a given project. She updates her shop on Sundays.
Anyway, here's Leah. She's got me thinking about eventually converting that old metal lathe in the shed into wood lathe and having some fun.
