Seen: Edmonia Lewis. By Jasmine Walls: Follow the true story of artist and trailblazer Edmonia Lewis, who was driven to create and make her own path, in this series designed to highlight lesser known female-identifying historical figures.
"Female-identifying". Get ready for series two in which we cover trailblazers like Lia Thomas and Sylvia Rivera!
Queer as All Get Out: 10 People Who've Inspired Me. By Shelby Criswell. Shelby Criswell explores the history of 10 queer people across the globe, reflecting on how these figures shaped and impacted them in their own exploration and understanding of their identity.
I would think that these figures would impact their own exploration, what with being being them and all (see how them becomes confusing when you're talking about a single person and a group of people interchangeably?)
A best of the year graphic novel for teens includes this title: Cheer Up!: Love and Pom Poms. By Crystal Fraiser. "Smart, antisocial cisgender Annie joins the cheerleading squad for college apps and crosses paths with her ex-friend BeeBee, a transgender girl seeking validation in school to keep her parents' support. The two rekindle their friendship and romance blooms." What are the odds that a "CISgender" teen girl would be attracted to a transgender girl romantically? Wonder what others think and if this should be posted in another circle.
It's fine to post this here, since it's book-related. Since you just posted it as a link though, it looks like you're just sharing these as book recommendations or an interesting list. A text post might be better next time, including the link and the context you included in this comment.
Thanks still navigating around.
