The QT are the ones who hate LGB people. They’re the ones doing conversion therapy. They’re the ones leeching from legitimate civil rights movements while doing their best to destroy them. They’re the ones pushing rape and paedophilia as their rights. Fuck yeah I hate them.

greyDecember 28, 2022

This is what happens when you live in a perpetual hugbox. Reality feels "unsafe".

Researcher1536December 28, 2022

Good quote!

overanddoneDecember 28, 2022

This is all about public presentation, and their perception of whether they are "safe" ...Some are 'bravely" wearing unicorns in public, some (notably the lone woman interviewed) have toned it down to blend in. Welcome to our world.

Every woman everywhere, no matter what she wears has a target on her back. Always cause to be cautious, watch surroundings, navigate every location whether open or enclosed. Always subject to public opinion about clothing, whether she "smiles" enough, or "why are you here?"."you don't belong here" It's too late for you to be out alone" "why are you hiking/biking/running by yourself, you're asking for trouble".

Who is most vulnerable to violence? Who actually Lost Rights this year? Women. Same sex marriage was codified, notably, before the court-mandated right to it was lost. Has women's health been codified?? No?? Not Yet?? Who has the most right to be concerned here? Why doesn't the Post write about that. (Because we are too boring, old news, and become a threat if we are too independent).

BondiBlueDecember 28, 2022

And of course what they mean by "safe" is everybody applauding how stunning and brave they are. They would actually consider it a hate crime to be ignored. TQ = NPD.

HollyhockDecember 28, 2022

EXACTLY. The ERA Still.Has.Not.Passed. And abortion rights are gone for half the country in the US.

CigarsofthepharoahsDecember 28, 2022

I have a fear of clowns. I actually have a fear of any adult in full costume especially when their face is fully or partially obscured. This includes heavy make up that changes the face. I find it hits me like an extreme version of uncanny valley. Drag queens make me feel the same way.

I didn't know it was called coulrophobia, I'll try and remember that.

emptiedriverDecember 28, 2022

I was leaving the library with my 8 year old son a week or two ago, and two young pink-haired students walked past us, and my kid said something like, "oh look, clowns!" gleefully, and I couldn't help but smile. It is definitely in the same category.

You make a really good point. It's one thing when someone's on stage and it's part of a performance and everyone is there to see theater - it may or may not be liked by all of the audience, but at least it's part of the game, so to speak. But when people dress up in real life, they've usually been trying to make a splash - either as street performers or as some brand of freak or knockout who turns heads. Punks with blue mohawks or women with long eyelashes and high heels were not classically trying to just "be themselves" and go to work & be left alone. The whole point of looking outrageous was so that people would notice.

And eventually in some places, it became something of a bored ironic hipster thing to ignore whatever crazy looks were out there, since at some point who hadn't seen everything - I guess once you can't turn heads with blue hair then you never wanted to anyway... But all the same it seems very silly to start claiming that you should be able to dress up in any sort of costume you like and no one should react to it...

coulrophobia.. a visceral fear of clowns

I apparently have cullo-coulrophobia

A visceral fear of ass clowns

I feel like we’ve all met some iteration of Cisneros and all of them are exactly the same: doughy, low-effort obvious male who has dyed his hair and decided that glitter is his personal brand. He thinks he’s very special in spite of his embarrassing failure to launch; the world is generally in tepid disagreement.

PinkPeoniesInTheRainDecember 28, 2022

Interesting that there are only 73 comments, and that they're all at least relatively positive/supportive of the pro-everything narrative. I wonder how many comments were deleted by the mods for not following the party line? Likely hundreds, if not thousands. It's just so discouraging.

LadylucyDecember 28, 2022

I subscribe to the WAPO. Awhile back, I wrote a comment about men in female prisons and the sexual assaults against the women. It was deleted. WAPO doesn’t moderate comments like the NYT. I’ve seen quite a few racist comments by right wing nuts. I think what happens is that someone flags the comment and WAPO deletes it because it upsets TRAs.

BondiBlueDecember 28, 2022

Tay-Tay Lorenz is probably Jeff Bozo's anointed powermod.

sarstanDecember 28, 2022

Cisneros is literally just some random guy who likes glitter.

BondiBlueDecember 28, 2022

I can't believe society has turned itself inside out and rewritten the language of objective reality just to appease scene kids.

[Deleted]December 28, 2022

Scene kids like these are just a smokescreen for the re-writing of material reality, not the reason for it.

Researcher1536December 28, 2022

How is this a freaking sexuality

PointerDecember 28, 2022

Only 73 comments...they clearly deleted all the gender-critical ones

Carrots90Nepo LadyDecember 28, 2022

They act as if that weird shit isn’t specifically for the purpose of shock and attention

FrankieDuckDecember 28, 2022

I have to cancel my subscription to WaPo. It's quite expensive but it's like watching a terrible movie and deciding to watch just a little more. WaPo is the riptide of all the woke gender news sources. There is a comment section which seems to be controlled by bots or the Russian trolls hanging onto their jobs. WaPo is a brick wall. Their standard "Democracy Dies in Darkness" should be "Strobe Lights on News that is Important" (to WaPO editors)

HollyhockDecember 28, 2022

My kids say the gender men tend to have poor hygiene...a good hair washing would be in order.

NoDayForADoDecember 29, 2022(Edited December 29, 2022)

The type I called "the unwashed nerds" in college is the type of male that seems most prone to fall into this late onset "I'm a girl!" revelation. Some of them I have creeped on fb and it's seriously gross... greasy, overweight, balding men... now with breasts and make-up, so stunning and brave now that they're in a dress. And still with beard. Once again doing shit women would never get away with, somehow being praised for being SO hot and sexy, somehow being allowed to woman without being bound by any of the conventions that actual WOMEN actually have to put up with.

All of the teen males I know who are falling into this now are the sort that 20-30 years ago they would have made their nerd friends and done awkward nerdy things together and they might have been teased some but they would have a social circle and they would have hobbies that didn't hurt anyone. Now you hear your kid is playing D&D and you know there's a good chance they will come out of it some sort of gender special.

I can confirm from long, personal experience... yes, they smell.

[Deleted]December 28, 2022

I can’t stand any of them. None of them represent me.

evermoreDecember 28, 2022

The sad thing is I fucking hate Youngkin in every other way but TERF-ism. He is very anti-abortion and has made it clear he wants that challenged as soon as possible. Unfortunately, due to that, I cannot vote for him. This two party system making us choose between one womens' right or the other is so stupid.

RighteousIndignationDecember 28, 2022

well of course theres a rise in QWERTY+ hate, things do tend to go up when you keep adding more letters of the alphabet to the list.

Omina_SentenziosaDecember 28, 2022(Edited December 28, 2022)

And when your basic level of obnoxiousness rises exponentially.

[Deleted]December 28, 2022

And when you've unhooked your arguments from reality, in a time when facts have been under attack, increasingly, for years.

Oh that's right, there's also a TIM featured in this piece complaining about not "passing," in addition to the indigo children and the sex clown. No shit, you can't force the rest of the world to have eyesight de-assignment surgery.

Dear TQs and the rest of the parasitic alphabet: If you really want to talk pronouns, maybe the fact that you are so unlikable is "a you problem and not a me problem."

[Deleted]December 28, 2022

lmao @ eyesight de-assignment surgery

HollyhockDecember 28, 2022

For someone to fire a TiM, it has to be really, really bad. Everyone either tiptoes around them, praises them to high heaven or actively avoids them.

EavaDecember 28, 2022

If you are in the US, I think that is a very regional issue.

hard_headed_womanDecember 28, 2022(Edited December 28, 2022)

Ugh. Teaching swimming often involves little children clinging to the teacher's body. It's just the way it is, and why I wanted women swim teachers for my kids decades ago. Now, I'm even more careful with my grandkids.

vulvapeopleDecember 28, 2022

I wonder if there’s some measure of sex-segregation going on, similar to the Port Townsend Y. And like the TIM in that incident, this one undoubtedly would want to be present while young girls changed into their swimsuits.
