FantasyMoribito: Guardian of the spirit, by Nahoko Uehashi, is an AMAZING book for teenage girls
There is a second one in the series that is really good too but the first one is one of a kind. What’s so special about it is the lead protagonist and the reversal ‘damsel in distress troupe’ the story is about Balsa a female bodyguard that gets tasked with protecting a young prince. I don’t want to spoil anything so I’ll leave it at that lol. Balsa is intelligent, powerful, brave and independent. I remember reading the first book when I was 14 and she left such an impactful imprint on me. And that have made me realise just how important good female representation in media is. Especially for younger girls. It’s rare to find a book like Morobito with a badass woman as protagonist while also not focused on her finding love.
I highly recommend it for teenagers, so consider it a gift option if you know any. It has action, fantasy, mystery and is very emotional and the best part it’s written by a woman. There is an animated the series too but the books are way better.
Just thought I'd share some seed inspiration today... I'll be growing other vegetables, flowers, and herbs but these were purchased this year and I'm getting excited to start sowing.
