Just learned that a friend's family bookclub had chosen "The Island of Sea Women," a fictional novel by Lisa See about a Korean village’s all-female diving collective and the two apprentices (young girls) just beginning to work in the sea with their mothers, aunts, and grandmothers, as this past month's choice.
These are tough, independent women. Wonder if there is a connection between the tenacious spirit of Korean Radfems and the female diving culture of Jeju?
Wish I could have participated in my friend's family bookclub.
