Recommendation RequestGood mystery novels?
I've had a very bad run of choosing books lately; I love a good mystery/crime novel, but the past five I've read have been absolutely terrible, with four of them having the same exact twist of "the female protagonist was evil all along and is just an unreliable narrator!". The only one that didn't have that twist was Mad Honey, which I picked up without knowing anything at all about it or the authors, and if you're aware of the book, you'll understand why I put it down in disgust halfway through.

So, I would love some recommendations! It's always difficult to figure out if I'll like a mystery book before I read it, because so much of the book's quality can be thrown out the window with the ending, particularly with mystery novels.
Also if anyone has any good paranormal book recommendations, that would be good too. I quite like Patricia Briggs, as an example (her novels are like popcorn movies to me).
