I’m interested in this book about medieval nuns (the best genre obviously 😌) and I would like to know if the characters are real women. There’s supposedly lesbians in it but I don’t want to discover halfway through that one of them is a vulnerable TIM.

Does anybody know and can tell me if the romance is between two women ? I tried to look on Goodreads but couldn’t find an answer.

Is it a good book in general ? Hopefully someone can help.

I remember loving it so I don't think there is any trans crap. I did not like her next book-The Vaster Wilds-but it also doesn't have trans crap. I've started subtracting a star and putting a note to myself that it's due to trans crap when it comes up.

I've not read it but husband did quite a while ago. Says he's pretty sure there wasn't any trans crap in it, but didn't really rate it (too wish-fulfillment-y apparently, although I think that can be quite nice at times). Author does have pronouns on her twitter page.

I've read it! All real women, no TIMs in sight. I enjoyed the book a lot and generally recommend it. It does feel a little achronistic in terms of how things develop with the nunnery and its development (but I'm no historian, who knows what went down then lol). The POV was compelling, and there was a decent consideration of power, who wields it, and how best to wield it. Very well written. I hope you enjoy it!
