I have Irreversible Damage by Abigail Shrier literally on my bedside table. And I really want to get to The Testaments by Margaret Atwood and the new Hunger Games book before the end of the year. Lately I've been very drawn to science fiction but haven't really been blown away by anything since Murderbot.
I read a lot of YA and kidlit, for complicated reasons, and much of that has left me cold too. I miss the days when books were published because they were unputdownable page turners. Now it seems like every book has to have some bullshit political relevance to even get published. If I have to read another book about how hard it is to be the spoiled and well-educated child of wealthy, successful immigrants I will cry.
What's everyone reading? What's everyone looking forward to?
