Hi everyone,
I checked the horror flair here but it's looking a little bare. I am always on the hunt for new horror to read and looking for recommendations. As I'm sure everyone here is well aware, horror can be a nasty genre for women, so I understand if fans have limits on what they will/won't read. For example, I am not a fan of novels with lots of gore or ones that focus on pregnancy/motherhood. I tend to bounce off "feminist" horror as well (but can be convinced if you've read a really good one). On the other hand, I LOVE ghosts and haunted houses. Huge sucker for the supernatural.
Some of my favorites are We Sold Our Souls by Grady Hendrix, The Silent Companions by Laura Purcell, and Saturday Night Ghost Club by Craig Davidson. It's sad-funny because I wouldn't even call any of these "pure" horror novels because good capital-H Horror novels are so hard to find.
The horror genre is full of so much trash and I am forever hoping to find those diamonds in the rough, so please, share your diamonds! The scarier the better!
