Books by WomenJodi Taylor's Catalogue of Catastrophe question (and something else...)

Any fans of Jodi Taylor? I've just finished Catalogue of Catastrophe and have a question: at the end, the four Time Police imposters -- I saw the three named, but never figured out/found out who the fourth was. ??

And while googling for an answer, I also googled to see if the next book in Scalzi's 'Old Man's War' series, after Zoe's Tale, kept Zoe as the main character, and happened to see a comment clipped from a subreddit that basically said 'So the consensus is that you don't need to read "Zoe's Tale" at all, just skip it and carry on, it adds nothing'. Hm. Zoe's Tale is the only one in the series I've bothered to purchase (rather than borrow from the library) because of the famous and delightful Scalzi sarcasm (also in Kaiju Preservation Society).

So I had to wonder: was it because the group was interested only in the plot/the action? And/or only interested in the war/the fighting? Or did they think their balls would shrivel up and fall off if they read a novel in which the main character is not only a female, but a teenage female?

Pity. Because Zoe is smart, sharp, and wickedly funny with a comeback! (And the scene with the teenage boys about to do something stupid is hilarious.)
