Is there a way to opt out of this and have a "card layout" like r*ddit? When I see posts, I have to click two different times just to see both the picture and the comments, instead of seeing the picture as I scroll.
You know what's really sad about this post? The amount of upvotes. I saw this in TwoX the other day and near it was a post from a woman asking about abortion information and that post has maybe 10 upvotes compared to this one, in the thousands. There must be sooooo many scrotes and handmaidens on that sub...
It's true. I was the shopping cart.
Isn't that sub mainly men? But yea it reads like fiction. Who goes to a store to harass someone?? If she believes that TIMs are women, why does it bother her?
I’ve been on Reddit long enough to question long and descriptive posts that have thousands of upvotes. They always seem made up and attention seeking over things that wouldn’t happen. Especially if people bother to check the accounts, they’re usually new or the comment section is blank.
The tone of the post (no slurs, the worst thing said is "fuck that lady") and the decade long history of the account makes me think that it's not a one time troll. I would bet my money on an extreme handmaiden or a dedicated larper TIM. OP's language sounded very influenced by female socialization to me, but there were also some comments by op about how women can be bad and rapists too, so I won't be surprised by either.
Women have enough of a sense of self-preservation not to go out of their way to antagonise disturbed and likely violent men.
If this were written by a woman, this is exactly how the trans movement hurts women. Because it has blurred the lines. It used to be that we could tell that even the butchest of women were women; truly androgynous people were very rare.
I have experienced some truly weird behavior from other people that would sound like I made it up. But this, I don't believe lol.
The only exception if this woman (?) was full on drugs or clearly looking visually troubled (sad but yea).
Edit: typo...
Why does it matter if someone thought she was a transwoman? She said it herself in her first sentence - transwomen are women, right?
Out of all the things that didn't happen, this didn't happen the most.
I’ve been called Sir before. My reaction to it was to snort, laugh a little, and keep moving. It was from a group of people who’d gathered to hold signs for a politician who held beliefs about how women should act. This is either a super handmaiden or a TIM fanfic.
Also, I’m pretty sure I was called Sir to try and get a rise out of me so they could justify attacking me.
If TWAW why were you even bothered? Why would it upset you to be mistaken for a transwoman?
If this story is actually true, the behavior described would still be harassment.
It would, but that’s a very big “if” since the story makes no sense. OOP talked to the charity workers for an entire half hour? That’s a really long time to make small talk with complete strangers and not mention you’re being harassed.
