Posting comments seems to see the field “freeze” and then every so often the comment gets lost or eaten up into the ether.
Not sure if this is a mobile thing or something specific to the browser I’m on ~ I use Duck Duck Go on iOS for all my browsing and posting activities. But I didn’t have any glitches with commenting before the new interface upgrade.
We've fixed a bug that could cause comment posting to freeze and possibly lose comments. Hopefully it's the only one of its kind. Let us know if you have any more trouble with it.
Thanks for reporting this. Does it freeze when you click the "Post comment" button or does it happen while you are typing?
It’s when I click post comment. If I go back to the home page and come back to the post, my comment (sometimes) appears. Apparently others are having this same problem too.
This has happened to me (also on mobile). I type my comment, I hit "post", the button changes to something like "posting...", and then it just stays that way. I checked the thread in another tab and my comment posted.
This only happened once, and I think it was when I was posting a new top-level comment to a thread (vs replying to an existing comment).
It happens to me with top-level comments as well as thread replies.
Strangely, it doesn’t seem to happen when I reply to a comment from the notifications section.
It’s still going on, too 🤷♀️
