FEB 2023: I got my first overt cancellation!!!
One never knows if one is preemptively cancelled, but I got my first overt cancellation today! Believe it or not, it was by a chapter of the AAUW!!!!!! So ironic!
I was disinvited from giving a lecture (that the chapter had nagged me to give) for my "transphobic" opinions that have been published as opinion pieces in a regional newspaper--because my opinions clash with the "values" of AAUW!
Standing up for women's rights in the face of disapproval is such a badge of honor! Feeling pretty happy about it--I have a feeling the original founders of AAUW are smiling upon me!
Well, that’s upsetting. I used to take my daughters to a AAUW-sponsored Mother-Daughter Science Day.
Interesting that a supposedly sex-based org (and one that promotes higher ed) is caught up in this bullshit.
Those kinds of organizations were the first to cave, in my experience!

It is a modern day conundrum that organizations founded to help women are falling in behind this trend of men LARPing as women while usurping our scholarships, grants, rights and same sex spaces, the very things AAUW, and NOW were once founded to support.
Good on you. I believe we've turned a corner and gender ideology is already headed downhill in society as we speak. Now is definitely the time to speak up and be brave.
I agree! We owe honor to those who stood up in the years when the price was horribly high. But now as more women speak up, it's harder to make the punishment stick.

Did they give you specifics on which values clash? It would be wonderful to have something specific in writing.
Here's an indicative sentence:
"As an organization we accept, respect, defend, and fight for ALL women and do not tolerate or promote transphobic ideology or speech."
So they are on record that they consider men to be women. This insanity can not end quickly enough.
As an organization, can you please demonstrate how accepting, defending and fighting for ALL women is possible in cases such as (maybe WiSpa), or loss of women's right to compete with women? How does one square that circle? This will enable me to comply with your policies once I understand how they can fairly play out in the real world and how they can possibly respect, defend, and fight for ALL women.
And yet, they would not be able to answer the basic question…”what is a woman?”

I am not sure where the national organization stands on these issues, or if they would even see anything wrong with my cancellation.
