This is a request for an alternative to some subreddits that are banned or colonized by TRAs.
Comphet: was once a popular spot for radfem and GC lesbians and questioners to discuss their experience of compulsory heterosexuality and the path to understanding and acceptance of their attraction to women. The subreddit was taken over by a TRA moderator when the original mod disappeared from reddit. It was an invaluable resource for lesbians that I miss and would love to see an effort to restart on Ovarit.
Febfems: female-exclusive bisexual FEMales. A radical feminist subreddit for bisexual women who only date women, that was recently banned. I haven't been able to reach the active mods but I know they have a discord. I would love to see this created, with their help if possible, or just as a space for bisexual women wanting to band together anew.
Other possible circle ideas -
MyNigel - for women who are in a relationship with a man to talk about their experiences.
RadDating: straight and bisexual women have specific experiences and a lot of conflicting feelings to navigate around their attraction to men and their awareness of patriarchy.
Even if you have single sex exemptions if you want your child's school to hang on to them it might be worth writing - explaining why your child would be reluctant to use the toilets otherwise.
I think, if it applies to anyone, that if when viewing schools as a prospective parent if you ruled a school out because it had single sex toilets, and if that limited your options significantly locally when picking a school that would also be worth mentioning.
Have you been doing university open days with your kids? Noticed the toilets? I'd mention that too.
Done. I’m a teacher. Hopefully they don’t release my name but 🤷🏽♀️ if they do I’ll stand by my words.
