"Women in Media" Circle?
Posted April 4, 2021 by Avadavat in Circles

In ‘Together Together, a pro-surrogacy indie film that centers a man's desire to have a child, stars Ed Helms as the man, and Patti Harrison, a TIM, as the surrogate mother.

Nikole Beckwith, the director (a woman, an adult human female, I believe), writes in an Indiewire article (link below): "The obvious next step towards more inclusive casting is trans actors playing cis roles.....'”

But, not the other way around, right, Beckwith? Women are not permitted to play TIM's, right? Because that would not be inclusive.

Never mind that, year by year by year women make up less than 30% of all major speaking roles in major films.

I think it's time to gather receipts on how many TIMs are cast in major roles as women in movies and on television, and how many times TIF's are cast as men...and, vice versa.

It would also be nice to record how many late "transitioning" trans people continue to be cast in roles of their actual sex, in spite of claiming to have a new and different gender identity. And, then to record the actual sex of all these performers in order to learn just how "inclusive" the gender identity movement is toward women (adult human females) fully being represented in the entertainment media.

So, to recap, "Together Together," a movie about surrogacy does not have a single major role played by a woman.

And, the last movie I actually saw, "Six Minutes to Midnight," which starred TIM Eddie Izzard and Dame Judi Dench had one major role that went to a woman (Dench), but the primary role (a man) was played by Izzard, a man who now claims that he is a woman...inside (or gender fluid...or something).

So, I imagine, according to gender ID camapigners, the first movie "Together Together" had a major role played by a woman ("trans women are women...yah dah yah dah yah dah) and the second movie, "Six Minutes to Midnight," had two roles played by women (Dench and Izzard, who recently "transitioned" to womanhood...or gender fluidity...or something)

So, by gender identity lights, things are looking up...3 of the 4 major roles in these two movies went to "women." But, in reality, only one of the four roles really went to women (adult human females)...the one role that Judy Dench played.

Also, interestingly, Eddie Izzard, who now uses female pronouns after his "transition" played a man...played a man who engaged in very physical male fighting in "Six Minutes to Midnight."

So, what are we to conclude by all this? That by donning the trans mantle, male actors in particular can benefit by being cast in more roles. If they've undergone hormone therapy and facial feminization, TIMs can take roles that would normally have gone to women (adult human females). But NOT vice versa. And, if TIMs have not committed seriously to feminization treatments, they can still play male roles (as Izzard has done). But, presumably, NOT vice versa for men who identify as...men?
