I'd like a circle where we can discuss matters relating to music & share links to music that has had an impact on our lives good & bad, but mostly good.
I've made a list of the hundreds of popular love songs to girls & women sung by male artists that used to fill the radio airwaves when I was a girl growing up in the US the 50s, 60s & 70s. These songs hearten me when I despair of all the misogyny in the world today. I think others might be interested & perhaps even uplifted to hear them or of them.
Glad to hear it's a good movie, my ex husband recommended it because I'm a "good mom" so I've been wondering what hidden insult was there or whether he wants points for leverage for something later. Guessing if the movie really is good, it's the latter 😂
I read my kids the book, and I plan to take them to the movie as well.
As a mother myself, I found it really awesome that the story is about being a mother. There are a lot of "cute kid and gruff man" stories out there, but not so many stories like this.
My husband and I took the kiddo to go see it. It was a beautiful movie. There are a lot of flashing lights though, so make sure you take your anti-convulsive meds if you have seizure issues!
I actually did like the fact that they were 100% upfront about how nature is generally not kind, there are (off-screen) deaths in the movie but it was handled in a way that should not be traumatizing to kids at all.
I actually texted my old boss and recommended she go see the movie immediately after leaving.

I live out in the country and the nearest movie theater has senior citizen tickets before 6 pm for $6.00.
They have the usual inflated prices for popcorn and food, though.
I’m not a senior citizen, so if there was something nearby like that, I wouldn’t be able to take up the opportunity
I saw the movie this weekend and really loved it too. One of the co-directors of the How to Train Your Dragon series directed and the other one was an executive producer on it, both of which I realized after watching it, so I’m not surprised I loved it. They’re also the same guys who did Lilo and Stitch. I think they’re my favorite creatives in the animation industry at the moment.
You make a compelling case. I will probably give this a watch.
