One nice thing about the way reddit worked was that people could create private subreddits, and to gain access to those, users had to be added by a mod.
What made this nice was that people could form support groups where they could discuss things that they wouldn't want visible to the wider internet. They had to have a reddit account, apply to join the subreddit, and be manually approved by the mods before they could see the content of the community.
This always struck me as a good practice for anything where confidentiality might be a concern, or something sensitive where, identifying or not, you might not want to share those experiences with the world.
Is this an option that's available through Throat?
Also, of course I know that NOTHING posted on the internet is TRULY private. However, if people are already using pseudonymous names and concealing identifying info, this would be a nice layer of added protection for people who want to discuss private events without becoming screenshot fodder.
It might enable us to have circles that could help women connect over more sensitive commonalities.
I just started reading Dworkin (Intercourse). She was a fantastic writer with a powerful voice. I know exactly what you mean when you say there's something amazing in every paragraph!
Will the tide turn or will we just get more dystopian
We don't have enough time left for the tide to turn. (https://pegtittle.com/and-heres-why-2)
