Save Women's Sports is specifically about TiMs in women's athletics. With the Olympics coming up (and in general, for that matter) we really need a space to talk about sports -whether they specifically involve women or not.

It can be really hard to be a woman on sports message boards and so having a place here where sports fan women can talk about anything in the realm of athletics seems highly necessary.

By this, I mean NBA/NHL/MLS/MLB/NFL etc. should all be fair game and encouraged to discuss. There are passionate women's sports fans of the men's leagues and we often get shut out and shouted down and so and it makes no sense that we don't have a circle for it here.

I suppose there also probably should be an additional circle for women's active recreation specifically -where we can talk about our experiences as women in adult athletics. I think there are a lot of former Roller Derby players that would loooove to sound out off, and I'd love to read their experiences, personally.

Girl Jocks on Ovarit, STAND UP!! Let's go.

"Keep to themselves" ....yeah that's the fucking opposite of crashing a meet up for w o m e n .

She tells herself that this opinion is "inclusive" and that she is not a terf. She has probably said many times that TWAW.

I fear for her.

The worst part is, I'm sure they went home to Reddit to talk about how the lesbians in attendance "had no idea" they were men even though they totally did, but the social conditioning of women to be polite is incomprehensible to them.

KBashApril 30, 2021(Edited April 30, 2021)

Or if they were aware, how mean, discriminatory, bigoted and phobic they were.

Just like I’d say if I barged into a black space and they were less than welcoming, but still polite. And I were a racist narcissist.

That last part is important.

That sucks you had to play musical tables to get away from the men at a lesbian event.

If they came up to me in this context to get a date or hook up....I don't know what I'd do because I'd be so pissed off. If I actually spoke up, would the TIMs lodge a complaint to remove me from this group? If I'm not removed and they are, will they lodge a complaint with FB or what ever server is hosting the group and have them removed for transphobia? I think you probably did the best think possible, ignore and avoid. If the whole group feels the same way then they won't come back. I think what would be worse is having handmaidens in the group asking why we are being so mean....I'd leave if that happened.

Removed from group and called a transphobe is most likely. I worry about the police getting involved.

They advertised as LGBTQIA+. The women who recommended them said they have big turn outs and it was pretty fun

Men just have an energy that's soo identifiable. You can always tell when someone is a trans identifiable man because they never pass, but aside form just appearance they will always have an energy that's overwhelmingly off-putting to lesbians. Why? Oh yeah, because we aren't attracted to men.

SunkisedMay 2, 2021

That's a really good point. It is some kind of aura or energy that we can just sense.

tomboyeuropeMay 4, 2021

It's an energy that's very draining and demanding.😑

I hope things go well with the women you met. Despite the TIMs, sounds like the evening was a success.

Thank you. We're still talking and I'm excited 😁
