I'm still relatively new here, so please let me know if I missed something, but is there a circle dedicated to gathering research and peer reviewed academic literature? I realize that research often gets shared to circles based on content relevance and I know that cross posting isn't allowed, so maybe posting by topic is what works best for most. But I don't want to assume in case there are others who would find it helpful to have all the relevant research both pro-TRA/pro-sex trade etc. and the radical feminist perspective in one place.
At the systems level, the arguments people are using to change policy and institutions in support of "trans rights" and lobby for legalization/full decriminalization of the sex trade ride heavily on pseudo science that is dressed up as "evidenced based research". Having all the bunk research and the sound research in one place could be really helpful when trying to rebut "evidenced based" claims that are thrown around and taken as truth by people (I'm thinking particularly of recent conversations I've had with congressional staffers in the US on some of these issues and being tired of my default response to a "statistic" they throw out there being "that's interesting, I'd like to read the study you're referencing...oh you're not sure? No worries, I'll find it and would be happy to share" rather than "Oh right, I've seen that study, did you notice that the sample size was 1? or it cites unpublished sources?" etc. Of course I can (and do) follow up with the article and my analysis of why it's bs, but by this point, most have moved on to the other billion issues people are asking them to prioritize.
Thoughts?
