circles for socialism, and LatAm/French-Canadians?
Posted January 24, 2022 by [Deleted] in Circles

I'm a socialist feminist, so I'm very interested in finding other socialist women here who may want a circle to discuss marxist issues and the like as they apply to women's liberation (work issues, maternity leave, literature, etc.) Is there any interest in this?

I am also interested in a circle for discussing issues pertaining to Latin American and French-Canadian women - I think we have a number of things in common - catholic cultural heritage, highly gendered language that wokies try and impose things upon (Latinx for example), we are surrounded by Anglo socio-economic dominance in the Americas, etc.

Anyone else down for one or both of these circles?

I'd be interested.

Awesome! So far not a very active post, but I'm hopeful we'll see some increased activity in the days to come. What do you think of names for the circles? o/socialism or o/socialistfeminism seems easy enough, but I'm not sure for the second - o/LatinasEtCanadiennes or something? A bit clunky of a name but I'm not sure what else to call it.

Edit: maybe o/postcolonialism and broaden the scope?

Id join a socialist one.

Do you have any interest in expanding it to socialist/communist/anarchist/generally leftist group?

For sure! I myself tend to fall into that kinda anarcho-socialist category (communalist to be specific), so I'd be very happy to have a general leftist circle that is open to all leftist feminist thought!
