Could we have a circle for bisexual women?
Posted January 25, 2022 by ascendin_lark in Circles

I think it would be good to have our own community in a space where there isn't room for TRAs to come in and declare that as we are bisexual, we should be comfortable sleeping with any TIM.

I feel as if the WLW/same sex attraction circle should be somewhere bisexual women and lesbians can discuss their experience of same sex attraction and socialise with each other. It shouldn't be dominated by bisexual women. We definitely shouldn't be going into o/Lesbians and making it about us haha.

Here are some things it would be nice to talk about in the o/Bisexual circle:

  • Discussing how we are perceived as individuals and a group (I'm really interested in where the idea of biphobia ties in with misogyny, lesbophobia and stereotypes about promiscuity, and how this might be fuelling TRAs' stance that we should be down for sex with anyone)
  • Dating and relationships
  • News that affects us
  • Life being bi
  • Bi icons lol

Would anyone else be interested in this? I can't see a circle for it. The last discussion I saw on it was a bit combative and I wanted to set a different tone.

Neat! Wasn't sure if we'd get to see some stats like this. I feel very fortunate to be able to witness how this website grows from the start.

Also glad to see the upvote to downvote ratio is really great, especially in comparison to other social media sites. Calculated the downvotes out to ~1.25% of total votes overall & ~1.6% in October. I hope this continues to be a platform where users largely express their disagreements with words, rather than downvotes.

I think overall, there have been a lot of great conversations around here and certainly some interesting ones..exciting to see all the new (and some familiar) usernames joining the fold (:

Also glad to see the low amount of downvotes. Those should be spared for trolls not people who you disagree with. That used to be the case on reddit too but it changed and now look at the state of that site.

I realized after coming here, I basically only downvoted men and their misogyny, lmao. I almost never use the downvote here.
