I'm sensing a real need for this. A lot of us over 40ish women - I would include Millenials, GenX and Boomers - often find ourselves unwelcome and at odds with much of the discourse here. I think having our own space to discuss things would help retain older voices and their wisdom and experience on this site. I've had too many PMs from other older women saying they greatly restrict participating because of ageism and basically the way many of the younger generation engages in discourse. We need a space free from that.
Anyone else interested?
I'm new to gardening and foraging but it's something I'd like to learn more about. I'd be interested in joining this circle if it's created.
I've been trying container gardening (no berries yet but maybe next year?) and would find this interesting as well.
My first 5 years of living away from home (not counting the study years) I had to have all my plants in pots D: But we had plenty of strawberries that way, so I'm sure you'll have a harvest ^^ What berries do you have if I may ask? :)
Black currants. My balcony faces east so not a lot of light.
I love black currant! Actually just got two homegrown ones from my mum :)
They do love sun, but since they are bushes it might also just be that they were too young this year? I hope you will have a nice harvest next year 😊
I would love a place to show off my plants :)
Showing off is a must when it comes to plants :D It's also just sharing the happiness ^^
I would absolutely join this circle! Any Australians here for climate or season-specific discussion?
Yes!! these kinds of knowledge are so important and also fun! Several women who hadn't been interested before starting asking me for help this year, I think when you have lockdowns and such you start evaluating what you and your friends can do to be more resilient against those types of external events. I would definitely love to contribute to this circle! 🌱🌾🌺🌽🍈
That's a good point. I actually hadn't thought of the pandemic's impact in this way.
Yes please! Forest gardening, foraging, permaculture, biodiversity, all the things!
This would be super helpful. I'm not very good at gardening, so a place to ask questions would be brilliant.
I’ll join it. I’m very interested in native plant/ pollinator friendly gardens
