Women are not only going to have to be “resituated” on the inside of power; it may be that power itself has to be redefined.

There is no alternate reality for women where power works differently.

Mary Beard profoundly disappointed me by not speaking out against the trans madness.

She profoundly disappointed me by making excuses for the Oxfam rapists in Haiti.

I feel you, she’s been pulled in on Twitter cancellation bs a few times and somehow seems to sidestep it for the most part but with all her eloquence and credit, I wish she would back up JK vocally or even speak out herself.

She’s speaking in Sydney soon (Sunday 10th March at the Opera House in case there are other people in Australia interested here) on this topic - I’ve got tickets and can’t wait!

Awesome! Let us know how it is!

Here’s an (older) article from The Guardian of all places praising one of my favorite historians of all time, Mary Beard, and her book Women & Power. Apparently it’s a short read and sounds incredible. I’ve watched every documentary she’s ever made about the Roman Empire and can’t believe it never occurred to me she is a feminist author as well! Sharing here to see if anyone’s interested in reading it with me, perhaps a book club entry, or if not just sharing because I love her work.

I have it. I will read it with you. But it has to be after the Right Wing Women reading group.

Deal, I’ll get a copy and maybe we can start next month.

I remember being very excited to read the book, and came away feeling "meh." The analysis was pretty 101.
