hi all! i want to create a rad fem collective in nyc akin to ones prevalent in the 60s. this is a work in progress and i'm looking for anyone also interested in creating community offline.
purpose:
to unite radical feminists in the northeastern United States
to create a safe space where women can discuss the female experience freely without fear of being "canceled"
to advance the rights of women and lesbians
to advance political and philosophical discourse on the state and liberation of women
to promote and organize the liberation of women from oppressive structures
to promote the self-determination of women and lesbians
to create a professional and social network among likeminded women
to safeguard women's culture and history
things we'd do: build sisterhood, organize politically, contribute to feminist discourse, take care of one another.

I’m excited for your group! Maybe future replies should be to you over PM. I’m kinda worried how many women shared their locations in the comments where any deranged lurker could see it.
No kidding. Usually threads like these get nuked for that very reason.

great question. i'm brainstorming & i'm thinking the first meeting should be through zoom so we can get to know one another before meeting in person!
I am definitely interested. I live in NYC and there are so many womens groups that don’t prioritize women here. This would be a breath of fresh air.

It's about a six hour drive for me to get down to NYC. Wish I was closer
Absolutely fantastic idea and well thought out. I live in Ma. so, northeast, but too far for meetings. It is, now more than ever, essential to have IN PERSON groups. Real, effective, meaningful organizing cannot take place on line. Sounds very doable with a lot of interest. WE need this to happen regionally, as you say. Grassroot organizing to grow our women's rights movement and strengthen in numbers to confront the massive attacks happening now.
I live in Boston in the Fenway-Kenmore area. My university I am attending is women-centered but many of the pupils are liberal fems/tras or just ignorant altogether of radical feminist theory.
