We’re thrilled to announce our next public event – this time in Birmingham. It will challenge the idea that prostitution is a normal job, not much different from waitressing or care work. We will hear from women who have been there – how actually, being paid to have sex with multiple strangers a day is in fact very different from serving coffees and emptying bedpans.
We will also hear how the sex industry is using the latest technologies (such as ‘sex’ robots and AI ‘girlfriends’) to increase its reach and profits – and where this is leading, and why we need to challenge the incursion of capitalism into our most intimate spaces.
Do invite your friends, colleagues and family along – we are confident that this event will provide an essential introduction to the reality of the sex industry to those new to the issues while also being stimulating and eye-opening to seasoned campaigners.
If you would like some printed flyers to distribute in your neighbourhood – e.g. in libraries, universities, community centres, etc – please email infor@nordicmodelnow.org.
