I realized we set goals at the start of the month but never check back in at the end of it. I read that accountability increases your chances of meeting your goals like 60% or more, so I thought those who posted fitness goals at the start of the month could take a moment to reflect on whatever progress has been made (or not), esp since it was the start of the year and all. So: how well did you meet your goals? If not, what might have gotten in the way of doing so? Were they reasonable goals? Do they need amending for next month.
I will say that writing down my goals at the beginning of the month and having others offer tips made me more conscious of meeting my goals. I am happy to say that I think I have established a habit of going to the gym 3x a week, or making up a missed day in some other way, like with yoga, which I have finally returned to after months of absence out of shame about my age and lost skills since I got sick (I used to be able to do vinyasa in my mid-50s and now that isn't possible--yet). I have reduced the amount of food I consume by skipping lunch several days a week, and doing intermittent fasting (lol--by sleeping!) for up to 10-11 hours (more when I had COVID at the start of the month). It seems to be working. I have lost 5 lbs. I know it comes off fast at the beginning, so I am not expecting this to happen every month, but still celebrating the results of my dedication, such as it is. Even though I did not make it to the gym as often as I like (or get off the couch as much as I had hoped), I can feel myself getting antsy and my skin crawling when I don't go, and that impelled me to go the next day.
