Clothing and gearMat/rug advice?
Posted March 14, 2025 by RegularFeminist in Fitness

I have been using my tourist mat for exercise for a couple of years (before that we had soft flooring and I just did exersise on the floor). My tourist mat has gotten almost worn out and I am planning to buy a new mat(s). I need some advice on that.

Are fitness mats in general more durable? They are more expensive where I live, that's why I used my tourist mat (and also just because I had it already). If fitness mats are in general more durable, than I am willing to buy two separate mats: one for fitness and one for tourism. If they are not more durable, then I'd rather just buy one mat both four tourism and fitness. (I need a mat for tourism only like once a year or even less)

And another questions: does anyone do sport on a rug? Since we now have very hard floor (ceramic tiles), I sometimes think that I want to buy something softer than a regular mat. Also I an planning to add floor rolls to my training and for that I also want something soft. But not sure if rugs will be easy to clean.
