DiscussionWomen's Valorant pro scene slowly becoming critical
Posted September 18, 2022 by SapphoFinn in Games
  • I'm not totally sure if this is the right spot to post so I apologize!

I don't know if anyone here is part of the scene or plays, but wanted to point out a promising trend - a lot of professional women in the scene are becoming more and more dissatisfied with the inclusion of nb/tims in the scene. Especially after a recent ruling that seems to have allowed people exclusively going by he/him as well.

Few have publicly discussed it (and were dogpiled by woke TRAs) but in a lot of private circles, attitudes are definitely shifting away or at least they're getting pissed off about it.

Still very walk-on-eggshells but I think this shift is a great sign of attitudes in general, but would be nice for women to reclaim their own space in esports again.

For anyone curious, at the moment there is a pretty huge % of trans identifying players in the women's scene, far exceeding the whole less than 1% of the population with dysphoria stat. But with the inclusion of NB and now he/hims the league is virtually pointless because any guy can start cashing in thanks to the rules now which is causing the anger within the scene.

Just thought I'd share some good news, hoping to see more esports women talking about it in the coming weeks - if anyone is/was part of esports and wants to discuss hit me up, or if anyone is curious about it!

I know I'm a little late to the party here, but I moderate a women's valorant community on facebook and am interested in this topic.

Do you have more info you can share? I'm super curious.

Hey there :)

Which part do you want to know more about? I can try to link stuff. There has been some interesting new developments in the scene ("NB" men coming out as faking NB to get on girls' teams) but I cannot name which pro's are quietly speaking out about this, I don't want to cost anyone their paycheck over critical thinking that's not yet accepted. Majority of these orgs are still very much in the 'we accept all genders' bullshit.

the more people are exposed to this the more people peek, everyone knows what the TRAs are doing is wrong and has nothing to do with rights, even the TRAs.

they are their own worst enemy, it is inevitable that they will lose.
