DiscussionGame reviewer Yahtzee Croshaw reviews Hogwarts Legacy: "JK Rowling is a cunt"
If you haven't seen his videos, Yahtzee is a somewhat unique game reviewer whose videos are more of a comedy roast of whatever game he's playing. He uses all kinds of dirty jokes and juvenile humor meant to appeal to young men.
In 2013 he was pressured to apologize after saying "Co-op single player is like saying 'I'm not gay, I only suck off pre-op transsexuals" and including a NO TRANNIES sign in an animated segment of his review. His apology included referring to TIMs as "things with penises". He also loves his sexualized female characters in games and complains that anyone objecting to that is just a buzzkill. Standard dudebro gamer behavior.
But then it comes time to review Hogwarts Legacy, and he literally spends the entire first 30 seconds calling JK Rowling a cunt. Here's the archive link that has a transcript, for some reason it only shows the transcript of the slurs to Rowling on the archived version.
Unsurprisingly he just trashes the game for the rest of the review too, and concludes by calling her a cunt again at the end.
Found a comment from him where he responded to a guy saying he's "moderating the worst of the comments to make sure the channel stays the friendly and welcoming place that he's built for the past four years" what a coward
I used to enjoy Yahtzee's Zero Punctuation videos. I even bought his book for a friend.

I'm liking that Hogwarts Legacy reactions and reviews are helping me prune my Youtube subs list of loser gaming channels who can't review a game on its merits and must stay relevant by taking a shit on JKR before talking about the game so they don't get eaten alive by the anonymous thought police online. One of my favorite Destiny 2 youtubers lead with "JKR is a terrible person" while covering HL and immediately I was like "Bye, son. Hope you find your balls some day." Along with other gamers doing the same thing before doing a string of let's plays of HL. Thanks fellas for letting us know you're a bunch of craven shits, my YT sub list is now better for it.
YT suggested to me a review of Hogwarts Legacy on the day it was released and the two reviewers were extremely positive with zero mention of JKR. Then I noticed the channel had like 1000 subscribers or so. Makes sense that they can be honest when they don't yet have a big enough audience to mollify.
I used to watch Zero Punctuation, but stopped years ago because he just stopped being funny. I'm surprised he's still around, honestly. It doesn't surprise me that he's made a video calling a woman a slur 🙄
Its a shame. I used to enjoy his stuff when I had more time for gaming.
Its telling that he issued apologies for his "pre-op transsexual" jokes. But he won't apologize for the misogyny of calling an actual woman the c-slur. Regardless of how he feels about trans shit, he knows he needs to pander to them in order to maintain relevance in gaming circles
