Korean game dev ProjectMoon (often known for their indie horror game Lobotomy Corporation) has fired one of their female illustrators when some incels went after them for some game design choices (based on their comments in the korean incel version reddit, people suspect it's because the incels found that the female character designs in PM's recent game Limbus Company wasn't sexualized enough to make their dick hard). The developers gave a weak explanation on twitter the translation of which you can find in this reddit thread. Of course, soon the English incels rose up to defend their korean brotheren and the thread got locked, with the new narrative being that the lady was a "bad feminist" who wants to "Abort all male foetuses, bully men into suicide and laugh about it". Another incel also posted a "clarification" post where he denied the "false rumors", but couldn't provide any proof.
Korean users on twitter then provided explanations about the incels' motivations and how they originally meant to go after the illustrator who drew the female characters they are salty about, but they changed targets once they realized it was a man. The female artist's now deleted tweets in the past shows her retweeting normal feminist things like protesting against the hidden camera problem in korea and stuff, but the assholes are connecting her with now defunct korean feminist group Megalia (look up wikipedia, they honestly sound fine to me) and the company claimed that "her ideology" was a problem???
Now there is a shitshow both on reddit and twitter between incel apologists and skeptical people, though the game's steam forums seems to have more sane takes. I'm also seeing twitter idiots call her a TERF, because of course that's the only word they know when they think of women who actually are pro-women (kinda feeling complimented??).
