Does anyone here go to gaming conventions? If not, where can gender critical gamers hang out?

Hi everyone,

I was just at Pax in Melbourne and I had a great time playing a Final Fantasy trading card game and a tabletop game involving WWI fighters called Wings of War.

But there were a lot of rainbow flags and pronoun badges at the event, which made me feel pretty isolated, like I wasn't really part of the gaming community cos I didn't buy into trans ideology.

I guess I should've expected to see a bit of it, but the quantity was insane which is weird to me cos my logical "male" (massive air quotes there) brain is the reason I enjoy this kind of gaming and also the reason I don't buy into this stuff, so I feel like I should have some solidarity in that space. I would've settled for overhearing dudes poke fun at it, but I didn't even get that.

Anyhow, I got so annoyed that I ended up going up to Transgender Victoria's booth and asking them about their beliefs. By "them" I mean three perfectly normal looking feminine-presenting (at least more feminine presenting than me in my shirt and tracksuit pants) biological women who claimed to be non-binary.

Since they weren't even presenting androgenously, I assumed they were allies rather than trans identified themselves, so I thought it'd be safe to go up to and ask questions. And frankly it was a lot safer than going up to biological males, but naturally they couldn't handle being asked about their beliefs.

I was literally told that it was inappropriate for me to disagree with them in a public space. Well, if I can't disagree with them in a public space where exactly can I disagree with them? Nowhere I suspect.

Anyhow, I'm telling that story here in case there were other gender critical people at the event (or at similar events) who might appreciate knowing that the illusion of complete consensus was broken for at least a few activists.

Do any of you go to these kinds of events or know other gender critical people who do and if you do, how do you cope with trans activism being everywhere?

If not, where do you all hang out (besides this forum)? I grew up gaming by myself (mostly playing Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts and similar games) or with my brother, so I was never really part of the gaming community. I'd like to be part of it, but misogynist men and trans activism drive me nuts.
